To work towards this aim we are undertaking a thorough and systematic research programme to collect, centralize and catalogue all current documentation (multi-media) on Christopher Okigbo.
The restoration of retrieved manuscripts;
The Okigbo Papers (UNESCO Memory of the World Register), as well as the creation of an extensive audio-visual library comprising interviews of all surviving contemporaries lay as foundation pillars to our enterprise. We are working closely with educational bodies and scholars already occupied in this field.
Our base in Ojoto, Nigeria; COFMBARI, is envisaged as a retreat offering adequate working conditions (artists’ residence programs, research facilities, workshops, prizes etc) for artists, philosophers, scientists…and poets.
